Project Description
|
- The system is a full storage thermal energy system designed to have two main cycles of operation during a 24 hour period.
- Build cycle, 18 hours at 48°C
- Burn cycle, 6 hours at 50°C
- TIAC system; simulates turbine winter operating conditions (higher power output) by lowering the temperature of the air entering the turbine.
- TES System; allows owner to “build” energy storage during off-peak periods and “burn” this stored energy during peak periods.
- The system is designed to cool the inlet air for 10 turbines from 50°C ambient and 10%RH to 13°C entering the turbine, TIAC System improves thermal efficiency.
- The generator inlet air will be cooled to 30°C in order to cater for the excess load generating at 50°C ambient.
