Project Description
Construction of Riyadh Extension III Project was awarded to M/s Al-Toukhi Company for Industry and Trading by M/s. Saudi Electricity Company – Central Operating Area (SEC-COA) on 13/05/2007. The scope of work includes the installation of four (4) GT Units with all related Auxiliary and the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of supporting system and BOP equipment for relevant power plant units.

The Power Plant Expansion includes, but not limited to complete 4 x PG7141 (FA) GasTurbine and hydrogen cooled generator with all BOP where BOP includes main step up Transformers, Aux, Transformers ISO phase Bus Duct, Generator Breaker, hydrogen generating plant and CEMS.

The Major Works included in the Project are as following:

Civil Works

Site survey / soil investigation, Site preparation, Foundation works, Building structures including MV & LV Switchgear Building, Fuel Management Shed training Building, Switchgear room, control room, hydrogen plant building, Fuel forwarding shed, Cable trench / duct banks/pipe trench, Asphalt Roads, Permanent Fence Miscellaneous civil works.


Electrical Works
GT-Generator auxiliary systems (by GE), 4 x 18/380kV GSU Power Transformer (by GE), Protection and Control System, 18/4.16kV Aux. Transformers (by GE), MV & LV switchgears, MV & LV power cables and control cables, DC system and Inverter, Earthing System, Indoor / outdoor Lighting and other miscellaneous electrical works 4.16/0.480 kV Aux. Transformers, ISO phase Bus Duct (by GE).


Mechanical Works
4 x 121 MW Gas Turbine generating unit, Fuel system including, Diesel oil forwarding & filtering skids, Pipe works & valves,, compressed air system, Fire fightingsystem including piping, valves, hose cabinets and water deluge system, Water supply system, HVAC system, Water treatment system, Oil bath heater, Overhead traveling crane and hoist, Exhaust stack and Drainage pump.
